About The Position
VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring a full-time Licensed Master's Level Behavioral Health Professional for the Davidson County Downtown Detention Center in Tennessee. The role works face-to-face with people from varied socioeconomic and educational backgrounds in a correctional environment. The Behavioral Health Professional is part of a multidisciplinary team working collaboratively to serve the patient population and support treatment. The position may be on a day or night shift. The clinician administers assessments, makes clinical decisions, provides mental health treatment, and co-leads group, individual, and crisis therapy. The role includes crisis stabilization, intakes and ongoing evaluations, risk assessment, coordination of care, discharge planning, consultation, and clinical documentation. The position requires a Tennessee license such as LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, PhD, PsyD, or LSPE, or equivalent.
Requirements
- Graduation from a master's-level program in a behavioral health-related field.
- At least one year of employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency, or equivalent.
- Current Tennessee licensure as a master's-level behavioral health clinician, with an LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, PhD, PsyD, LSPE, or equivalent license.
- Ability to administer assessments, make clinical decisions, and provide mental health treatment.
- Satisfactory background investigation report.
- Excellent and timely documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and ongoing evaluations, and consult with in-house and community services.
- Participate in monthly behavioral health calls and collaborate with the medical team to determine appropriate treatment for each individual.
- Perform inmate risk assessments, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team—including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals, and corrections—and provide discharge planning.
- Assist in planning and implementing program and project goals and objectives.
- Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, records, and reports.
- Prioritize treatment needs and provide crisis management and brief clinical interventions, including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
- Co-lead group therapy, one-on-one therapy, and crisis therapy.
- Make independent clinical decisions while seeking assistance and supervisory intervention as needed.
