About The Position

Sunlighten Day Spa is undergoing a complete renovation to create a fresh, beautiful, upscale experience for guests, with a planned reopening on October 1, 2026. We are seeking an exceptional Licensed Massage Therapist to match the quality and care invested in the spa's transformation. This role focuses on serving our thriving weekend clientele, offering an opportunity to build a loyal customer base and create transformative experiences. The therapist will work closely with the Spa Manager, providing exceptional service that embodies whole-body healing and relaxation. We are looking for someone available every weekend or every other weekend. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Overland Park, knowledgeable about our services, and driven to provide unparalleled guest experiences while consistently upselling. Sunlighten Day Spa has been recognized as "Best Kansas City Day Spa" multiple times and offers services such as infrared sauna memberships, deep tissue massage, organic facials, and body contouring. We aim to bring light, hope, and happiness to our clients, and we seek a reliable and hard-working individual to be integral to this mission.

Requirements

Licensed in Kansas and Overland Park as required by law.
Proficient knowledge of relaxation, prenatal, hot stone, and deep tissue massages.
Ability to provide 30-90 minute massages to clients by appointment.
Capable of exerting physical pressure during massage sessions to address clients' needs.
Must be able to lift and carry massage equipment and supplies.
Positivity and "can do" attitude.
Excellent communication skills.
Customer service experience.
Confidence in service skills.
Quick decision-making skills.
Ability to stand for extended time periods.
Available every weekend or every other weekend.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, professional quality massage therapy services.
Adhere to all policies and practices, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and sanitation of massage rooms and equipment.
Maintain a professional appearance and visual presentation throughout the customer experience.
Discuss and note each client’s painful or stressed areas and any health conditions prior to providing services to ensure safety and satisfaction.
Actively listen to clients during the massage and adjust pressure/technique to meet their needs and accommodate requests, within reason.
Perform and maintain updated knowledge of all applicable services, products, and treatments offered on the menu with a healing and relaxing touch according to state/local protocol and Sunlighten Day Spa values.
Ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable by providing a high level of customer service with enthusiasm through all methods of communication.
Ensure clients leave feeling important, satisfied, and special.
Coordinate with other spa team members on scheduling and expectations.
Adhere to appointments to provide an exceptional guest experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
