About The Position

The Licensed Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and emergency repairs on building operational systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating renovation projects. The technician will also communicate with vendors, discuss maintenance issues with supervisors, and maintain advanced computer literacy for tasks such as email, document review, and work order completion in CMMS, BAS, and fire systems. Additionally, the technician will lead training sessions and be available for emergency services during unscheduled work hours, including on-call rotations. A clean and professional appearance is required.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid HVAC license.
  • A minimum of 7 years of documented field experience in HVAC.
  • Must produce and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must meet minimum requirements on Motor Vehicle Reports.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must have a desire to grow and develop skill sets.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Advanced knowledge in licensed HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical trade.
  • Knowledge and skills in other fields of building maintenance.
  • Professional communication skills, including the ability to interact and work with co-workers, patients, and visitors.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use tools pertaining to the building maintenance trades.
  • Knowledge of building and preventative maintenance practices.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or the equivalent is preferred.
  • If in recovery, 1-year of continuous sobriety is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance and emergency repairs on building operational systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with facility systems for which the technician is licensed and competent.
  • Performing regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on campus-wide equipment and systems.
  • Planning and coordinating work related to renovations and remodeling projects.
  • Making necessary repairs to support daily operations with minimal disruption.
  • Communicating with vendors to schedule repairs.
  • Meeting with the Supervisor and/or Director of Facilities to discuss maintenance issues.
  • Maintaining advanced computer literacy, including email, document review, and work order completion in CMMS, BAS, and fire systems.
  • Leading training sessions with the maintenance department.
  • Providing emergency and extraordinary services during unscheduled work hours.
  • Being on call for 7 days on a rotating basis.
  • Having and maintaining a set of hand tools essential for the job.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
