About The Position

The Licensed Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance as well as emergency repairs on building operational systems including but not limited to HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with facility systems for which the Licensed Maintenance Technician is licensed and competent. Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on campus-wide equipment and systems. Plan and coordinate work related to renovations and remodeling projects through completion. Make necessary repairs to support daily operations while causing minimal disruption to the Caron community. Communicate with vendors to schedule repairs. Meet with the Supervisor and/or Director of Facilities to discuss maintenance issues as required. Maintain advanced computer literacy skills, including checking and retrieving email; reviewing and developing memos and other documents; and completing and adding work orders in CMMS. As well as BAS, and fire systems. Lead training sessions with the maintenance department on topics within the technician’s area of expertise. Will be available to provide emergency and extraordinary services during unscheduled work hours, e.g., hurricanes, snow, and rain, as directed by the supervisor and/or business needs. Will be required to be on call for 7 days on a rotating basis. Responsible for having and maintaining a set of hand tools essential for the job. Must maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with policy HR07.04. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid HVAC license.
  • A minimum of 7 years of documented field experience in HVAC.
  • Must produce and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must meet minimum requirements on Motor Vehicle Reports.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must have a desire to grow and develop skill sets.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Advanced knowledge in licensed HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical trade.
  • Knowledge and skills in other fields of building maintenance.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and work together with co-workers, patients, and visitors professionally and friendly.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use tools pertaining to the building maintenance trades.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Knowledge of building and preventative maintenance practices.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or the equivalent is preferred.
  • If in recovery, 1-year of continuous sobriety is preferred.
