Licensed Emergency Veterinary Technician
About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to work in our busy Emergency department. We are now offering a Sign-On Bonus for up to $12,000! An optional moving allowance is available if a qualified candidate is relocating. The pay range is $30.00 - $42.50 per hour, which is a starting point dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends, based on a 4-hour minimum.
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician
- Experienced
- Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
- Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
- Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
- Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
