About The Position

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7 - 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE®-approved and certified facility. Position Summary: The Licensed Therapist provides professional behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis intervention services to individuals, families, and groups. The therapist works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support clients experiencing mental health, substance use, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges. The position requires independent clinical judgment, adherence to professional ethical standards, and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

MA (Master of Arts) in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related field, or MSW (Master of Social Work)
At least 1 to 3 years of professional experience providing services to children and adolescents in a psychiatric, behavioral health, or rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

Provide psychotherapy services for residents to include individual, family, and group therapy.
Complete all documentation to include, but not limited to, ISPs, discharge acceptance, discharge summaries, biopsychosocial assessments, safety plans, etc.
Attend all scheduled meetings to include, but not limited to, clinical flash, clinical meeting, treatment team, FAPT (as needed), court (as needed), unit reviews, PCMs, etc.
Maintain contact with parent/guardians.
Provide training to support staff as needed.
Participation in the implementation of clinical programs.
