About The Position

Dirks Companies, LLC, a Verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in construction, logistics, and disaster response and recovery, is seeking an experienced Licensed Electrician. As an authorized federal contractor, they provide a wealth of industry knowledge and strategic relationships to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality construction solutions. This role involves performing routine preventative maintenance, corrective and emergency maintenance repairs, inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of facility equipment and facilities. The position is also responsible for installing conduit, cable runs, and new/replacement equipment for the federally contracted ICE residential facility in Alexandria, Louisiana. Employment is contingent upon required screenings, clearances, and compliance with federal security and operational protocols. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents, able to speak, read, and write in English, and show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or trade school equivalent
  • 3 years experience in electrical repair and maintenance
  • Active Louisiana state license
  • Knowledgeable in medium and low voltage motor controls, switchgear, electric circuits, and protective relays
  • Knowledgeable in reading and understanding drawings and specifications as they relate to repair and operations of plant electrical equipment and instrumentation
  • Proficient in the use of precision testing instruments
  • Able to use hand tools & power equipment in the performance of maintenance activities
  • Proficient in troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment in all phases of plant/facility equipment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Must show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine preventative maintenance on facility equipment and facilities.
  • Performing corrective and emergency maintenance repairs.
  • Conducting inspections, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Installing conduit, cable runs, and new/replacement equipment for the federally contracted ICE residential facility.
  • Following established practices and procedures of the department and working independently within safe practices to perform maintenance and repair activities of facility electrical equipment and facilities.
  • Identifying and problem-solving issues to repair and maintain plant electrical systems and apparatuses to ensure safe and efficient operation.
