Requirements

  • Rhode Island State License is required
  • OSHA 10 Certification is required
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work with a general contractor and other trades present on job
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of at least 50 lbs. or more, climb ladders, climb stairs, stooping, and work in tight areas

Responsibilities

  • Installing and servicing electrical systems
  • Observing company safety guidelines
  • Providing material cost and time estimates
  • Training other Electricians and Apprentices
  • Diagnosing electrical faults
  • Reading blueprints
  • Using diagnostic tools
  • Making decisions under pressure
  • Complying with all OSHA and Site Specific safety standards
  • Reading blueprints, running conduit, wiring devices, troubleshooting, and performing quality control testing
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical, architectural and electrical drawings and code specifications for determining wiring layouts
  • Troubleshooting, testing and repairing emergency generators and various electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly
  • Performing upgrades or preventive maintenance to electrical control systems or remodeling residential projects
  • Running tests, isolating problems, replacing damaged section of wiring, laying conduit, and performing other tasks as required
  • Collaborating with team members in estimating and scheduling efforts
  • Ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies
  • Training general Electricians and Apprentices working on various projects
  • Keeping abreast of new technology, electrical services, and manufacturing processes
  • Performing physically demanding tasks like moving or lifting heavy objects, digging trenches for laying conduit
