About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a part-time Licensed Counselor for its outpatient facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The counselor provides individualized, evidence-based care to clients receiving addiction treatment and supports their clinical needs, treatment progress, crisis response, and aftercare. The role works with the Clinical Director, treatment team, and families to coordinate care and models recovery principles in all professional interactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• Valid state licensure or certification required to practice in the role; examples listed are LPC, LCSW, PLPC, CIT, RAC, and CSW.
• Excellent observational, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Compassionate, dignified character that models recovery principles.
• Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for each client.
• Conduct individual, group, family, and couple therapy sessions.
• Manage clinical needs, services, and aftercare for an assigned client caseload.
• Prevent, intervene in, and de-escalate crises.
• Maintain thorough documentation of client challenges, progress, relapse risk, and interventions.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director, treatment team, and families to coordinate care.
• Model honesty, accountability, dignity, respect, and other recovery principles in professional interactions.
