About The Position

Counseling Services at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Clinician or Psychologist to lead eating disorder treatment services. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with the Student Health Center, and providing specialized clinical care for students with eating disorders. The position offers opportunities for program development, prevention, and early-intervention strategies. UNR's Counseling Services operates on a same-day access and brief therapy model to ensure timely support for students. Clinicians will provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, consultation, and outreach, contributing to student wellbeing and academic success within a diverse student population at a Carnegie R1 research university.

Requirements

  • Clinical experience working with individuals experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, or body image concerns.
  • Master’s degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field) for Master’s-Level Clinician.
  • Completion of graduate-level practica and internships that meet eligibility requirements for licensure in Nevada for Master’s-Level Clinician.
  • Current licensure in Nevada as a mental health clinician (LCSW, LMFT, or CPC), or eligibility to obtain such licensure within six months of hire for Master’s-Level Clinician.
  • Master’s degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field) for Licensed Clinician (Advanced).
  • Current licensure in Nevada as a mental health clinician (LCSW, LMFT, or CPC), or eligibility to obtain such licensure within six months of hire for Licensed Clinician (Advanced).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of post-licensure clinical experience for Licensed Clinician (Advanced).
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: Direct clinical service delivery, Clinical supervision, Specialized clinical practice area for Licensed Clinician (Advanced).
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, including completion of a doctoral internship for Doctoral-Level Psychologist.
  • Licensed Psychologist in the State of Nevada (or eligibility for licensure) for Doctoral-Level Psychologist.
  • Experience as a licensed Psychologist, ranging from entry level (up to one year) to a minimum of four (4) years of post-licensure experience for more advanced placement.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Direct clinical service delivery, including specialty clinical areas, Clinical supervision for Doctoral-Level Psychologist.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate eating disorder treatment services as part of a multidisciplinary care team in collaboration with the Student Health Center.
  • Deliver specialized clinical care for students experiencing eating disorders.
  • Contribute to a collaborative clinical environment that values professional development, innovative service delivery, and student-centered care.
  • Focus on eating disorder assessment, treatment, and program development.
  • Shape and expand eating disorder services within Counseling Services in collaboration with the Student Health Center.
  • Collaborate with medical providers.
  • Consult with campus partners.
  • Develop prevention and early-intervention programming.
  • Provide brief individual and group therapy.
  • Provide crisis intervention.
  • Provide consultation.
  • Provide outreach.
  • Work closely with campus partners to support student wellbeing and academic success.
