About The Position

Wilson County Health Department is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our Wilson Area School Health (WASH) team. This position will provide behavioral health services and support to students and staff within the school-based health center setting. The LCSW will provide mental health assessments, counseling services, crisis intervention, care coordination, and referrals for students and school staff. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving access to behavioral health services within the school community and committed to supporting the overall well-being of youth and families.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution
  • Two years of supervised social work experience as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
  • Fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client assessment that may include: triage, screening, assessments including risk and diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention including petition for involuntary commitment when clinically indicated, brief therapeutic intervention, treatment planning, consultation, client and family education, diagnosis, sharing information with other agencies/providers, and/or linkage to resources and services.
  • Provide care coordination with MCO’s, Public Health Department, providers, and community stakeholders regarding crisis stabilization and intervention, as well as appropriate resources for referral.
  • Completes diagnostic assessments, crisis plans, and develops treatment plans.
  • Accurately and thoroughly documents consumers' presenting problems, symptoms, treatment needs, recommendations, and services accepted by the consumer on triages, STR’s, case support notes, and any other relevant form.
  • This documentation and the treatment plan should be shared and communicated with the referring provider on an ongoing basis to ensure continuity of care.
  • Under the direction of the Health Director and Deputy Health Director, performs a variety of professional management activities in the planning, development, and implementation of the WCHD Behavioral Health program.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage quality management and regulatory compliance functions.
  • Oversee and actively guide utilization review, confidentiality of records, and peer review in accordance with federal, state, and local government requirements.
  • Work closely with the Health Director and Deputy Health Director in developing program policies that meet federal, state, and local government requirements.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of an Electronic Health Record and billing system.
  • Plan for, oversee, and respond to External Quality Review.
  • Monitor the Grievance and Appeal process and the Patient Rights Advocate for all client complaints, including requests for confidential patient information.
  • Plan and implement ongoing and periodic documentation reviews of patient records.
  • Participate with internal, external, and partner agencies such as the Managed Care Organizations (MCO’s) regarding compliance issues, including regulatory, fiscal, and operational policies.
  • Act as liaison with local agencies, MCO’s, providers, community partners, and DHHS.
  • Attend relevant provider meetings.
  • Facilitate Quality Assurance and Clients Rights Meetings.
  • Compile a marketing and outreach plan to provide education to partners and community members on the program and increase referrals.
  • Establish Community Champions through the marketing and outreach plan in order to create and maintain an area referral base for the program.
  • This position will also deliver presentations throughout the region, meet with individual providers, attend related staff meetings, and do outreach through phone calls and direct mailings.
  • Ongoing marketing will be needed to ensure the viability of the program.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned/required, including meeting attendance, completion of mandatory training, completion of necessary requirements to maintain licensure, receiving supervision, and other duties as assigned, which may include emergency response efforts.
