About The Position

Gould Medical Group is seeking skilled professionals for an outpatient mental health clinic serving children and adolescents with a wide variety of mental health disorders. The program offers mental and emotional health assessments, education, and therapeutic interventions. This position is integrated with the Pediatrics department, focusing on health assessments, education, and therapeutic interventions for patients 18 and under. The role involves brief, focused interventions, often 15-30 minute visits, in a high-volume primary care setting. Candidates will work with evidence-based interventions like CBT, PST, and MI, provide culturally responsive care, and manage a broad range of presenting concerns. Efficient documentation in the shared medical record is essential, as is supporting population health efforts through behavioral health screenings and protocol-driven care. Flexibility and adaptability are key to managing a fluid clinic flow and functioning as an integrated member of the primary care team.

Requirements

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
Proficiency in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions appropriate for the primary care setting, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Ability to provide culturally responsive care, respecting and valuing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of patients.
Ability to deliver brief, focused interventions (typically 15–30-minute visits) consistent with the consultative, high-volume nature of the PCBH model.
Comfort receiving warm hand-offs and same-day referrals from primary care providers and providing real-time curbside consultation to the medical team.
Skill in triaging and managing a broad, undifferentiated range of presenting concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, health behavior change, chronic disease management).
Ability to document efficiently in the shared medical record using concise, functionally oriented progress notes (e.g., SOAP format) that are accessible and useful to medical providers.
Ability to support population health and preventive care efforts, including behavioral health screenings (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7) and pathway/protocol-driven care for identified patient populations.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to manage an unscheduled, fluid clinic flow, and to function as an integrated member of the primary care team rather than an independent specialty provider.
Must have alternative hours, including some evening work after 5:00pm.
Call is one week in twenty-three weeks (phone only).

Nice To Haves

Experience with pediatric patient population (18 and under).
