About The Position

Braille Institute of America is seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker to oversee clinical service delivery within the social work program throughout our Southern California Centers and national online programming. This position provides clinical leadership and supervision to registered associates and will help build and oversee a robust Master Social Work internship program.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work degree
  • Registered Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) in good standing.
  • Minimum 3 years post-license employment in a clinical setting with progressive responsibilities.
  • Completion of, or ability to complete at time of hire, mandatory 6 hours of Continuing Education Units required by the Board Behavioral Science to be eligible to provide clinical supervision to registered associates in California.
  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Advanced clinical skills for working with individuals (assessment, treatment plan, intervention, and outcomes evaluation).
  • Advanced clinical skills for working with groups (assessment, treatment plan, intervention, and outcomes evaluation).
  • Advanced knowledge on mandated reporting and comfort mentoring others in determining mandated reporting requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of, and ability to model to others, understanding and application of professional laws and ethics.
  • Ability to mentor professional behavior (interpersonal skills, teamwork, personal accountability, conflict resolution, continuous learning, advocacy and diplomacy).

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience supervising associates or interns.
  • Experience with youth, transitional age youth, and/or older adults preferred.
  • Prior work experience in disability services is desirable.
  • Spanish-speaking highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision to registered associates and master’s level interns.
  • Assist Social Work Director with program oversight for all unlicensed, pre-licensed, and licensed staff.
  • Help implement and oversee a robust training program for Associate Social Workers and Master of Social Work interns.
  • Provide clinical supervision to registered Associate Social Workers pursuing licensure, and/or Master of Social Work interns.
  • May provide supervision within other disciplines (e.g. Associate Marriage Family Therapist, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, Marriage Family Therapist Intern).
  • Provide clinical oversight to other staff and paraprofessionals in the Social Work program.
  • Provide crisis intervention and consult on complex and challenging cases to internal teams.
  • Utilize current client management system and other technology for program maintenance and outcomes reporting.
  • Review documentation for quality assurance.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and community partners.
  • Facilitate emotional support counseling groups and social adjustment initiatives.
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, referrals, and follow-up care to individuals, groups, couples, and families.
  • May perform as an operational team leader to department staff on key projects, policies, and daily operations.
  • May maintain a small caseload of short-term therapy clients, especially if case is determined too complex for pre-licensed staff.
