About The Position

Strengthen Clinical Practice. Support Clinician Growth. At Paving the Way MSI, you will help clinicians strengthen their skills, improve documentation, and deliver high-quality behavioral health care. As a Licensed Clinical Consultant, you will provide as-needed clinical consultation, documentation review, clinician training, and support with complex cases. You may also provide formal clinical supervision when appropriately credentialed and assigned. This independent contractor role does not provide daily leadership or administrative supervision. You will not independently manage schedules, attendance, productivity, performance evaluations, corrective action, or routine program operations. As PTWMSI expands its Core Service Agency services, you may assist with diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, case initiation, and documentation review. You will not maintain a routine caseload but may provide limited clinical support during program development or temporary coverage needs.

Requirements

Master's or doctoral degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
Active, unrestricted independent clinical license in the District of Columbia, such as LICSW, LPC, LMFT, psychologist, or another license appropriate to assigned services.
Experience conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and reviewing clinical documentation.
Knowledge of diagnosis, risk assessment, safety planning, medical necessity, ethics, and documentation requirements.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and follow-through.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.
Board-approved supervisor status is required when providing formal supervision toward professional licensure.

Nice To Haves

At least three years of post-graduate behavioral health experience.
Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, training, or mentorship.
Experience in community-based, outpatient, pediatric, or public behavioral health.
Familiarity with District of Columbia Core Service Agency requirements.
Experience supporting clinical quality, audit readiness, or documentation improvement

Responsibilities

Consult on assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk management, clinical interventions, and levels of care.
Support clinicians with complex cases, clinical decisions, ethical concerns, and evidence-based practices.
Provide clinical supervision to assigned clinicians or interns when authorized and appropriately credentialed.
Review diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge documentation, and other assigned records.
Evaluate documentation for quality, completeness, medical necessity, and compliance.
Assist with assessments and treatment plans needed to initiate Core Service Agency care.
Complete, approve, or co-sign documentation when permitted by your license, credentials, and applicable requirements.
Develop or provide training on assessment, documentation, risk management, safety planning, ethics, and clinical care.
Participate in case reviews, clinical meetings, quality-improvement activities, and special projects as requested.
