About The Position

This opportunity is open to current Tepeyac Community Health Center Licensed Behavioral Health Providers only. The Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) provides behavioral health consultation, brief assessment, groups, prevention and interventions to adolescents and adults within their medical home to improve psychosocial functioning. Additionally, the BHP provides clinical mentorship to other BHPs and weekly supervision to Master’s and Doctorate interns. The BHP & Intern Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing and managing internships within the Behavioral Health Department. This includes recruiting, interviewing and selecting qualified interns, creating and monitoring internship programs, and providing guidance and support to interns. This position will provide clinical and administrative supervision to BH interns and support learning and case consultation for other unlicensed BHPs. This role would also be working with internal departments and local graduate programs to ensure successful internships. The BHP works closely with BH Director to develop, implement, and/or refine Behavioral Health Program initiatives.

Requirements

Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or clinical social work.
3 to 5 years of experience as a psychotherapist.
A minimum of 1 year of leadership and/or supervision experience in integrated care or community mental health.
Oral and written fluency in English and in Spanish required.
Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado.
Credentialed as a clinical supervisor by a nationally recognized credentialing organization preferred, such as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and/or ability to pursue said credentialing.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong initiative and passion to advocate and provide healthcare to low income, diverse populations.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and Saturday mornings.
Thinks creatively and is open to working in common workspaces.
Highly organized, visionary thinker and team-player.
Awareness of screeners: PHQ9, GAD7, AUDITC/SBIRT and ACE.

Responsibilities

Familiarity with the DSM V and diagnostic techniques.
Conduct mental health screenings utilizing standardized instruments and assess clients to determine appropriate levels of treatment in accordance with relevant ethical standards.
Manage psychosocial aspects of chronic and acute diseases as well as substance use in addition to educating clients and families with prevention and treatment enhancement techniques.
Provide counseling to individuals, families, as well as groups.
Provide evidence-based care appropriate to the age and needs of patients with a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens.
Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment progress and follow-up at disposition at times.
Ability to work on a strength-based and client-centered perspective: focus on what people can do, not on what they can’t do.
Provide PCP-initiated consultation services that may include differential diagnosis, psychoeducation, brief intervention, and referral for further treatment.
Consult with and advise with other healthcare team members on the methods of assisting patients and their families in overcoming social and emotional difficulties which may prevent effective health care.
Follow procedures for the electronic health records system for accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with organization standards.
Create written material for use in psychoeducation of patients referencing established, peer reviewed, and evidence-based practices.
Demonstrate cross-systems relationship development skills.
Create a positive approach to communication and problem-solving.
Participate in team meetings, in-services and supervisory sessions as required.
Ability to execute work plans and manage caseload independently and with flexibility.
Ability to multi-task, priority work and meet deadlines.
Develop and maintain relationships with Denver area universities.
Recruit, train, and provide administrative supervision and clinical supervision to BH interns.
Participate in the development of long and short-term goals for the BH internship program that are consistent with organizational goals.
Build and maintain community relationships with universities and represent Tepeyac at external functions, meetings and events.
Coordinate internship placements for students.
Manage internship data and records.
Attend required internal meetings, trainings, leadership development sessions, and community events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
