About The Position

The Licensed Behavioral Health Professional provides mental health assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and treatment services to patients within a healthcare, behavioral health, and/or correctional setting. This position works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient wellness, behavioral stabilization, rehabilitation, and continuity of care while ensuring compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Health, or related field required
  • Current active state licensure required (LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent)
  • Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements
  • Strong clinical assessment and therapeutic counseling skills
  • Ability to manage crises calmly and professionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of behavioral health practices, patient rights, and confidentiality standards

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of behavioral health or clinical counseling experience preferred
  • Experience in correctional, psychiatric, crisis intervention, or healthcare settings preferred
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioral health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and risk assessments
  • Provide individual, group, and crisis counseling services to patients
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and behavioral care plans
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition or risk to appropriate clinical staff
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and care coordination activities
  • Provide crisis intervention, behavioral stabilization, and de-escalation support as needed
  • Coordinate referrals, discharge planning, and continuity of care services
  • Educate patients on coping skills, behavioral health conditions, treatment plans, and available community resources
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PREA, NCCHC, ACA, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, trainings, audits, and staff meetings
  • Maintain professional boundaries and therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Collaborate with custody staff, medical staff, and outside providers when appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned
