About The Position

Family Circle of Care is expanding its behavioral health services into Palestine, Texas, with the opening of a new clinic. They are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join their Behavioral Health team. This role will be based at the new Palestine clinic, providing in-person behavioral health services to patients in Palestine and remote/telehealth counseling services to patients of their Athens clinic. This is an opportunity for a professional who enjoys working within an integrated healthcare team and aims to increase access to mental health services in rural and underserved East Texas communities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current Texas LCSW or LPC license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of outpatient, community health center, or counseling/therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience providing behavioral health services through telehealth preferred.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and/or families preferred.
  • Knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements related to abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Experience with electronic health records preferred; EPIC experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, counseling, treatment planning, and ongoing behavioral health services.
  • Provide both in-person counseling at the Palestine clinic and telehealth counseling for Athens patients.
  • Utilize a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach that empowers patients and their natural support systems.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Recognize and address social, emotional, and environmental factors that may affect a patient's overall health and well-being.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Connect patients and families with appropriate community resources and services when needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Provide compassionate, culturally responsive care to patients who may experience healthcare disparities, chronic health conditions, poverty, trauma, or other barriers to care.
