About The Position
Intermediate District 287 is seeking a Licensed Behavior Intervention Specialist for an opening at Ann Bremer Education Center in Brooklyn Park, MN. The district serves students in grades K-12 and transition-age students (18-22 years old) from 12 member districts in the west metro area. Intermediate District 287 offers a variety of services and specialized programs, primarily focused on Setting IV special education, designed to meet the diverse needs of its students. The district emphasizes a trauma-informed approach, comprehensive support services with dedicated teams in each school (including School Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialists, and Student Safety Coaches), and small class sizes (averaging 6-8 students per class) to ensure personalized attention. The district is also committed to diversity and aims to hire and retain racially diverse and racially conscious staff.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
- Moderate experience working in a job-related field
- Valid MN special education teaching license, school social worker license, or school psychologist license issued by the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA - Nationally certified), or in the process of obtaining the certification
