About The Position

The Counselor provides patients and their families with accurate diagnosis, appropriate assessment, therapy, counseling, and assistance. The role involves maintaining positive relationships with patients, their families, medical staff, other personnel within the medical complex, and outside organizations. The Counselor maintains the confidentiality of patient information, establishes effective working relationships with other treatment team members, and accurately documents progress notes and treatment plans. This vacancy is not eligible for visa sponsorship or transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school or educational program.
• Knowledge of substance use disorder and 12 Step recovery philosophies.
• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) license in the State of Minnesota.
• For Fountain Centers, a current driver’s license is required; Mayo Clinic Rochester does not require one.
• Counselors providing adolescent services and family counselors must meet applicable training requirements; training may be provided.
