About The Position

KF Aerospace is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME-M) to perform line and heavy maintenance in a safe and efficient manner. This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. KF Aerospace, founded in 1970, specializes in a wide range of aviation services including maintenance and modifications, cargo operations, military pilot training, and aircraft leasing, with facilities across Canada and over 1,200 employees.

Requirements

  • AME-M license
  • Minimum 3+ years experience working as Mechanics AME
  • Ground Operating License (AVOP’s)
  • Radio license
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Willing to take initiative
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and understand KF organizational systems and work flow
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Intranet
  • Willing to pursue type endorsements with recommendation of crew chief and attain ACA
  • Willing to pursue additional company training as required
  • Thorough understanding of Transport Canada regulations

  • Ability to complete M3 processes and procedures correctly
  • Applying safe work practices in all job duties, including: Wearing all appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), Understanding and applying the Risk Management System, Understanding and applying Health & Safety Policies, Maintaining good housekeeping standards and cleanliness, Understanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraft, Understanding and applying Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
  • The AME-M uses his/her own technical knowledge and experience to provide training and development to apprentices in the areas of Technical, Safety and Documentation by: Communicating required information and testing for understanding, Being open and available for questions, Acting as crew resource for company information, Role modeling professional conduct and positive customer orientation
  • Complies with the KF Tool Control policy found in Production Manual Section 10-1

Responsibilities

  • Perform line and heavy maintenance on aircraft.
  • Understand and perform functions related to aircraft systems including air conditioning, hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, avionics, electrical generation, oxygen, fuel, and pneumatics.
  • Engage in basic troubleshooting on assigned tasks.
  • Complete daily inspections, receive and depart aircraft.
  • Perform run-ups from the right seat and conduct independent critical and non-critical systems checks.
  • Safely operate all ground equipment and perform aircraft towing.
  • Inspect aircraft in accordance with service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and aircraft manuals.
  • Inspect and assess aircraft components and airframe to locate defects.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals to determine repair or replacement methods.
  • Source appropriate tooling, test equipment, or ground support equipment.
  • Maintain engines and components, including fuel systems, anti-ice, ignition, fire extinguishing, exhaust, oil, and engine indicating systems.
  • Maintain aircraft systems and components, including landing gear, airframe fuel, hydraulic and high-pressure pneumatic, flight control, cabin environment, ice/rain protection, fire protection/detection, and doors/interiors and emergency equipment.
  • Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components.
  • Measure cable tension and adjust control cables.
  • Measure parts for wear using precision instruments.
  • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories.
  • Carry out operational tests of engines and aircraft systems.
  • Provide solutions for defects while carrying out repairs.
  • Sign off on own work and the work of others where endorsed/qualified.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and clear up log book snags.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of own work and fix mistakes with minimal rework.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation for own work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Source required technical information in maintenance manuals accurately and timely.
  • Complete M3 processes and procedures correctly.
  • Apply safe work practices in all job duties, including wearing appropriate PPE, understanding and applying the Risk Management System, Health & Safety Policies, housekeeping standards, safe handling practices with aircraft, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Use technical knowledge and experience to provide training and development to apprentices in technical, safety, and documentation areas.
  • Comply with the KF Tool Control policy.
