About The Position

KF Aerospace is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics (AME-E) to join their growing team in Hamilton. This role involves performing line and heavy maintenance on aircraft systems, including autoflight, navigation, communication, instrumentation, and electrical/lighting systems. The AME-E will be responsible for completing inspections, modifications, installations, testing, adjustments, and repairs of aircraft systems, ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently. The position also involves documenting work accurately, mentoring apprentices, and adhering to safety and tool control policies. Requirements

  • Transport Canada 'E' license
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an AME-E
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Perform line and heavy maintenance on aircraft systems, including autoflight, navigation, communication, instrumentation, electrical/lighting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and flight controls.
  • Complete basic inspection tasks, including EWIS inspections, and inspection/assessment of Electrical and Electronic Components.
  • Interpret flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems.
  • Perform aircraft modifications with minimal assistance, including installation of assemblies and systems according to documentation, and post-modification testing and troubleshooting.
  • Assemble prototypes or models of circuits, instruments, and systems for testing.
  • Carry out EMI/EMC testing.
  • Complete general installation, testing, adjustment, and repair of systems.
  • Source appropriate tooling and test equipment.
  • Set up and operate ground support and test equipment.
  • Calibrate or adjust electronic equipment or instruments to specification.
  • Carry out troubleshooting procedures to isolate faults.
  • Install or replace electronic/electrical equipment, components, fixtures, wiring, or systems.
  • Repair or replace electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures, or equipment.
  • Test electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, systems, or fixtures.
  • Construct or fabricate electrical parts, fixtures, harnesses, or test aids.
  • Sign off on own work and the work of others where endorsed/qualified.
  • Safely operate all ground equipment.
  • Coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of own work and fix mistakes where required.
  • Carry out installations with minimal rework.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation for own work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Source required technical information in maintenance manuals.
  • Complete M3 processes and procedures correctly.
  • Apply safe work practices, including wearing appropriate PPE, understanding and applying the Risk Management System, Health & Safety Policies, housekeeping standards, safe handling practices with the aircraft, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Provide training and development to apprentices in Technical, Safety, and Documentation areas.
  • Communicate required information and test for understanding with apprentices.
  • Be open and available for questions from apprentices.
  • Act as crew resource for company information.
  • Role model professional conduct and positive customer orientation.
  • Act as the lead of sub-crews on jobs as required.
  • Comply with the KF Tool Control policy.
