About The Position

License and title all new vehicles and equipment at AEP. This role involves title changes as required when vehicles become company owned, when vehicles move between Operating Companies, or when a lease is refinanced. This position requires knowledge of Federal Regulations and different state laws governing licenses and titles, including Apportion plates, Cab cards, IRP plates, and compliance with the Federal 2290 form. The ability to work without direct supervision, communicate via electronic mail, and maintain meticulous documentation is crucial for the timely processing of licenses and titles. Strong organizational skills are critical for tracking each vehicle through the licensing and titling process until received by Fleet. Responsibilities include receiving and distributing incoming and outgoing license and title documents.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting or high school diploma/GED
  • Four years Fleet experience or titling experience in various states.
  • Knowledge of Federal Regulations as well as different state laws that govern licenses and titles.
  • Knowledge of Apportion plates, Cab cards, IRP plates, and compliance with the Federal 2290 form.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers to meet the requirements of this position.

Responsibilities

  • License and title all new vehicles and equipment at AEP.
  • Perform title changes as required when vehicles become company owned.
  • Perform title changes when vehicles move from one Operating Company to another.
  • Perform title changes when a lease is refinanced with another Leasing Company.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Regulations and different state laws that govern licenses and titles.
  • Manage Apportion plates, Cab cards, IRP plates, and compliance with the Federal 2290 form.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate via electronic mail as necessary.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for the licensing and titling process.
  • Track each vehicle in the process until title and license has been received by Fleet.
  • Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing license and title documents.
  • Review and analyze the MCO on each new vehicle to determine the legal entity.
  • Ensure proper taxes are paid at the state and local level.
  • Supply information to the IRS as necessary.
  • Update information in the Maximo Fleet System.
  • Purchase and document each license plate and title using accounts payable or Company Credit card.
  • Obtain fuel cards, insurance papers, vehicle registrations, etc. for new vehicles.
