About The Position

The License & Title Associate is responsible for licensing and titling all new vehicles and equipment at AEP. This includes title changes as required when vehicles become company-owned, when vehicles move from one Operating Company to another, and when a lease is refinanced with another Leasing Company. This role requires knowledge of Federal Regulations as well as different state laws that govern licenses and titles, including Apportion plates, Cab cards, IRP plates, and compliance with the Federal 2290 form.

Requirements

Associate degree or high school diploma/GED
Four years Fleet experience or titling experience in various states.
Minimal travel may be required.
Must be able to work effectively with internal and external customers to meet the requirements of this position.
Organization skills
Communication skills
Work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze MCO on each new vehicle to determine the legal entity.
License and title all vehicles and equipment, adhering to particular state laws.
License and title all vehicles and equipment, adhering to Federal laws.
Ensure proper taxes are paid at the state and local level.
Supply information to the IRS as necessary.
Update information in the Maximo Fleet System as necessary.
Purchase and document each license plate and title using an accounts payable or Company Credit card.
Obtain fuel cards, insurance papers, vehicle registrations, etc. for new vehicles.
