About The Position

RieLes Group, LLC is seeking a dependable Library Technician to support an anticipated FEDLINK Library Support Services task order for archival processing work at the Library of Congress. The Library Technician will provide hands-on processing and data support under Archivist supervision. This position will assist with rehousing, foldering, labeling, box preparation, security strips, production logs, audiovisual inventory templates, spreadsheet cleanup, and completion tracking.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a library, archives, records, museum, or similar environment performing related tasks
  • Ability to follow detailed processing instructions, templates, and approved procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate labels, logs, spreadsheets, and tracking information
  • Ability to handle archival and special collections materials safely and carefully
  • Ability to communicate questions or concerns promptly to supervisory staff
  • Ability to complete required Library-provided training prior to beginning applicable work
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience rehousing, foldering, labeling, inventorying, or processing archival or library materials
  • Experience with special collections, manuscripts, photographs, audiovisual materials, scrapbooks, or music materials
  • Basic spreadsheet experience
  • Familiarity with archival handling practices or preservation concerns

Responsibilities

  • Rehouse archival materials in appropriate folders and containers
  • Create folders for loose materials and assist with unfolding and flattening documents
  • Stamp, label, and number folders in accordance with project guidance
  • Prepare and label boxes using Government-provided templates.
  • Apply security strips as required
  • Assist with audiovisual inventory templates and production tracking
  • Maintain accurate logs for completed, under-review, rejected, corrected, or delayed work
  • Identify and escalate fragile, damaged, mold-affected, water-damaged, or otherwise concerning materials
  • Support quality control, test sample preparation, acceptance support, and rework activities as needed
