The Library Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the library. This role involves handling a variety of tasks, including managing records, coordinating schedules, assisting library patrons, and supporting internal library personnel. The library specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining an organized and welcoming environment, contributing to the overall success of the library.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to library personnel, including managing correspondence, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from a variety of assorted personnel.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, events, and appointments for library personnel.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of library materials, such as newsletters, flyers, and reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of library activities, inventory, and circulation.
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of library collections, including cataloging, shelving, and inventory management.
  • Provide support for library programs and events, including setup, registration, and promotion.
  • Support the use of library technology by assisting library personnel with computers, digital resources, and software.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment.
