About The Position

This internship position is designed to assist the Library Services Administrator in cataloging books for the campus libraries. The intern will gain experience in library science, data management, and administrative support within an educational setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university or completed degree program within the last year.
  • Personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.
  • Skill to operate computer equipment, including wordprocessing software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, maintain, and conduct inventory of library materials.

Responsibilities

  • Research Library of Congress and other sources for information to classify and catalog books into the permanent library system database.
  • Resolve cataloging maintenance and collection organization problems.
  • Develop and update records in the master inventory database.
  • Travel as required to provide assistance to campus libraries or to attend required meetings concerning library programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
  • Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at locations of work assignment.
  • Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
  • Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
