About The Position

The Bandon Library is seeking a creative and community-focused Library Program Specialist to plan and lead engaging programs for youth and adults while assisting with daily library operations. This role is part-time, with approximately 20 hours per week, and offers a pay rate of $20.00/hour. The Bandon Library plays an important role in connecting, educating, and inspiring our community. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping create engaging experiences for residents of all ages.

Requirements

• A passion for libraries, literacy, education, and community engagement
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer proficiency and a willingness to learn library systems
• A collaborative and positive approach to working with patrons, staff, and community partners
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience planning programs, activities, or events

Responsibilities

• Planning and facilitating library programs and events
• Leading preschool story time and literacy activities
• Community outreach and partnership development
• Marketing library programs
• Assisting with library operations, circulation, and cataloging
• Supporting the Library Director with reports and special projects
