About The Position

Works under the direction of the Library Deputy Director to manage the overall administrative operations of program development for customers of all ages. Leads in efforts to promote the librarys policies, goals, and objectives. Participates as part of leadership and regional management teams to formulate and implement divisional standard operating procedures, policy, goals, and strategic plans. Supervises library service coordinators to facilitate growth, development, performance, and productivity. Manages assigned service areas in terms of overall performance, service patterns, work output, and system efficiency. Provides work direction, assignment of duties, evaluation of work performance, and discipline to assigned staff. Initiates interregional and inter-agency cooperative efforts to support and enhance operation and service. Collaborates in partnership with Friends of the Library, the Library Foundation and other community groups to collect demographic information to enhance community engagement. Develops, implements and oversees new services, innovations, concepts, and techniques to improve the quality, productivity and variety of library services. Performs research, designs measurement tools, and conducts user studies to determine the efficiency of library services versus customer demand and to ultimately improve customer service. Prepares, creates, and submits various reports and records as required. Participates in professional and community organizations to market library services and benchmark information related to future service improvements. Visits and attends various library and other locations around the City for meetings, workshops, and training seminars.
