About The Position

The Library Media Specialist will be responsible for managing library media services, integrating technology into instruction, and supporting staff and students in their use of technology for research and learning. This role requires a strong understanding of library media principles, New Jersey Student Learning Standards, and effective classroom management to create a positive and engaging learning environment. The specialist will also be responsible for communicating effectively in both English and Spanish and ensuring responsible and creative technology use.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in library/media studies from an accredited institution.
• Hold a New Jersey School Library Media Specialist certificate.
• Demonstrates strong classroom management.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of library media services.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
• Effectively integrates technology into instruction to support student learning and information literacy.
• Demonstrate proficiency with digital tools, library management systems, and educational software to enhance access to resources.
• Demonstrate knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
