About The Position

The Library/Media Specialist at Marshfield R-1 School District is responsible for planning and implementing programs within the media center, integrating technology, and managing library resources. This role involves training staff and students, managing budgets, and fostering a positive learning environment. The specialist will also collaborate with administration and staff to support the district's vision and goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Education
Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate with Certification in Library Sciences
Experience and high level of competency in technology

Responsibilities

Plans and implements programs within the media center program.
Participates in the development and implementation of technology throughout the building and district.
Designs and promotes the LMC and maintains an appealing environment that is conducive to learning.
Manages the selection, acquisition, circulation, and maintenance of materials and equipment.
Trains and supervises media center personnel (staff, students, and/or volunteers) to perform duties efficiently.
Plans budgets, and maintains records according to needs and the objectives of the media program.
Implements technology and training with teaching staff on techniques that will enhance instructional strategies.
Demonstrates and teaches effective research skills.
Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, administrators and parents/patrons.
Communicates effectively with students, staff, administrators and parents/patrons.
Participates in professional growth activities.
Adheres to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the building and district.
Collaborates in the development and /or implementation of the building and district vision, mission, and goals.
Achieve other assignments as assigned by the building principal.
