About The Position

This is a 1.0 FTE position located at Kenmore Middle School. The Library Media Specialist will implement instructional programs that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials. This role involves maintaining a safe and orderly environment, communicating with parents/guardians, and maintaining complete and accurate student records. The specialist will collaborate with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members, and will monitor and assess student achievement. Attendance at ongoing professional learning and meetings is also required.

Requirements

• Teaching experience in the above mentioned areas
• Knowledge of best instructional practices
• Ability to integrate technology
• Experience in educational and instructional leadership
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure in Library Media (K-12)

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required
