The School Library Information Specialist-Elementary will serve as an integral team member in the school community as a leader, teacher, technology integration coach, and information specialist. Responsible for creating a collaborative learning environment for students that nurtures creative problem solving; empowering students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information; and anticipating future obstacles and continually evolving to meet challenges. Works as an instructional partner with teachers and other educators to build and strengthen connections between student information and research needs, curricular content, learning outcomes, and information resources. Provides leadership and expertise in the selection, acquisition, evaluation, and organization of technology resources in all formats, as well as expertise in the ethical use of information.
