The City of Falls Church is recruiting for a permanent part time (20 hours per week) Custodian. The individual selected for this position will work at the Mary Riley Styles Public Library in Falls Church, Virginia. Requirements

Graduation from High school preferred.
Custodial or maintenance experience.
Possession of a driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
An equivalent of training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of public and staff spaces, including restroom facilities, and ensuring they remain fully stocked.
Cleaning and disinfecting water fountains.
Sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, replenishing supplies, and emptying trash and recycling receptacles.
Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch areas, such as: doorknobs, elevator buttons, counter areas, desks and tables; cleaning windows, dusting books shelves and desks.
Performing minor repairs and assembling office equipment as needed.
Setting up, taking down and moving furniture and equipment for programs, meetings, and special events.
Collect litter and debris inside and outside the building.
Performing basic outdoor maintenance, such as raking leaves and assisting with snow and ice removal.
Performing other related tasks as assigned.
