Students perform a variety of tasks to assist with the maintenance of the Library & Archives collections, and the purchasing and cataloging of new materials for the library.

Requirements

Students must be currently enrolled at Augsburg and must be work-study eligible.
Able to lift boxes up to 40 pounds
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and accuracy (both alpha and numeric)
Ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with library catalog searching
General office experience, especially filing
MS Office & Google Workspace apps
Basic experience with photography & Adobe applications is helpful

Responsibilities

Pre-order searching to confirm price and availability of materials
Processing new cataloged materials, including attaching barcodes, labels and dust-jackets
Withdrawing titles from the collection and preparing withdrawn items for shipment or disposal
Shelf maintenance, including shifting, reshelving books, and shelf reading
Assisting with Interlibrary loan functions
Creating metadata and descriptions for digitized photographs
Processing archival materials
