Under the supervision of the building administrator and librarian, this position assists in implementing the school library's objectives to enable students and faculty to take advantage of the materials and services available. The role involves ensuring the library is accessible, assisting with its general neatness and displays, monitoring patrons and the database, and performing various clerical, maintenance, and accounting functions. This includes shelving books, processing interlibrary loans, ordering and returning materials, conducting annual inventories, preparing reports, processing new materials and equipment, maintaining supply inventory, preparing new books for circulation, and periodical maintenance. The position also involves inspecting circulated items, organizing repairs for damaged materials, performing circulation desk procedures (checking in/out, registering patrons, collecting fines), assisting patrons with general questions and locating resources, and providing assistance with AV equipment, computers, and library technologies. Additionally, the role involves training and maintaining the Makerspace, supporting school-related library services, training staff and volunteers on equipment and library tasks, assisting with the training and supervision of volunteers and student aides, and working with individuals and groups to carry out instructional plans and implement library programs. The position requires supporting core values, engaging in professional development, responding to information requests promptly, maintaining a neat appearance, demonstrating appropriate attendance and punctuality, serving as a role model, working harmoniously with colleagues, and complying with all District and School policies and regulations, including confidentiality. Other related duties may be required/assigned.
