About The Position

The Centennial Library Assistant II is responsible for overseeing public technology operations and assisting customers with the use of computers, iPads, iMacs, and other technology at the Centennial Library. This role involves assisting patrons with various technology-related tasks, performing circulation duties, planning and hosting programs, assisting children with activities, and occasionally being responsible for the entire building. The Centennial Library is MPL's technology branch, offering resources such as gaming, technology and creativity tools (green screen, studio), media transfer services, 3D printing, and a sublimation printer with a heat press.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of technology

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with computer applications (both Windows and OS), internet searching, use of Library equipment, website, catalog, locating materials, Digital Climbers and similar activities.
  • Perform circulation functions including preparation of deposit slips, assisting with registration audits as requested, and serve as a resource for information about circulation policies and procedures.
  • Plan, promote, and host programs and participate in community outreach events.
  • Assist children with homework help, games, stories, activities, etc.
  • Occasionally be responsible for the whole building.
