About The Position

The Leveling Clerk is responsible for managing orders within the Leveling/Consolidation cage, receiving and organizing incoming materials and orders, and preparing shipments. This role requires operating a forklift, packing products, building crates, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment in compliance with company safety rules and lean philosophy.

Requirements

Good verbal and written English communication skills.
Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to organize work for optimal efficiency.
Forklift experience.
Manual dexterity to operate forklift, staple gun, pallet jack, hand truck, nail gun, table saw, stretch wrap and skid-banding equipment, hand tools, computer terminal, and calculator.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend waist and neck, squat, twist neck and waist, use hands to grasp, manipulate, push, pull and reach.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Ability to maneuver successfully through a 75,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
Ability to function in high-pressure situations.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Correctable vision and hearing.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous computer data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Pulls and releases orders from the Leveling/Consolidation cage for shipment.
Receives orders into the Leveling/Consolidation cage.
Receives incoming materials and orders in the shipping/receiving department.
Uses a forklift to pick up, move, and deliver incoming materials, chemicals, and orders.
Uses a forklift to maneuver wooden crates and heavier items.
Packs up to 35 lbs of product in prefabricated cardboard boxes.
Builds wooden crates for larger, heavier items or quantities of smaller boxes.
Organizes incoming OP orders in the QA department.
Maintains good working relationships with colleagues.
Adheres to scheduled shifts and company attendance requirements.
Demonstrates flexibility to stay late or modify work hours on short notice to meet production deadlines.
Performs job duties safely and complies with company safety rules and procedures.
Follows the lean philosophy and practices the 5 S’s daily.
