About The Position

Spiniello Companies is a privately held, national, full-service utility contractor. Founded in 1922, we are one of the few companies that fully self-performs all aspects of open cut and specialty pipe rehabilitation. Headquarters in New Jersey, we also have office locations in Maryland, Washington D.C., and California. We are seeking a motivated Level 1 Help Desk Technician to join our IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience within a dynamic, fast-paced business environment. Provide day-to-day technical support to internal users across multiple office locations. Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining applications, PCs, printers, peripherals, and networking equipment. Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues; escalate when necessary. Guide users through solutions and ensure timely issue resolution with follow-up communication. Maintain accurate network and system documentation. Work within multi-layered security protocols to ensure system integrity and data protection. Assist with network deployments, upgrades, and general maintenance activities (including backups). Support user onboarding, training setup, and general IT guidance. Collaborate with higher-level support teams to ensure seamless IT operations.

Requirements

  • Must be on-site, 5 days per week
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred
  • Help desk or IT support experience (1–3 years preferred)—internships, student tech roles, or part-time experience welcome
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both hardware and software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users
  • Knowledge of client/server environments, basic networking concepts, and Internet/Intranet applications
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong customer-service mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration is highly beneficial
  • Familiarity with remote support tools is a plus
  • A+ or Network+ certification is a bonus but not required
