About The Position

The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University Department of Pediatrics seek a clinician for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Program. The successful candidate will join a collaborative pediatric hematology/oncology program and provide care for children and young adults with leukemia or lymphoma. Most effort will be devoted to clinical service, with remaining time for research, teaching, and administrative activities. The role is based at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Arthur M. Blank Hospital and is required to be performed in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option. Clinical duties include attending on the inpatient service, providing weekly outpatient care, and intermittent service in the sedation and procedure suite. The clinician will provide high-quality care and contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, and, occasionally, practicing physicians. The role is expected to involve at least 80% clinical effort, with administrative duties also included. The successful candidate will continue research, quality, teaching, and administrative activities in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Program under the mentorship of program leader Dr. Sharon Castellino and other faculty. The clinician is expected to pursue and maintain extramural funding for research; after an initial four-year start-up period, Emory School of Medicine expects 65% of research FTE to be covered by extramural funding. Collaboration opportunities are available across Emory, Winship Cancer Institute, the Rollins School of Public Health, the American Cancer Society, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Salary and academic rank—Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor—will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
