About The Position

A day in the life of a Machine Operator (Letter Mold Maker) at Gemini includes reviewing work orders to ensure familiarization with job requirements and discussing requirements with team members. The role involves programming layouts for production using software to determine cutting paths, speeds, passes, and tool sizes, along with generating routing paths for tooling. The Machine Operator will utilize shop tools such as grinders, saws, and hand tools to complete wooden molds, and repair broken molds in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to the molding process. This position may also develop mold components, ensuring all parts fit together without apparent seams, and inspects work periodically and upon completion to ensure dimensional compliance with the work order. Routine operator maintenance to equipment and set up of equipment is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent demonstrated competency through work experience.
  • Above average skills in communication, interpersonal relationships, & customer service.
  • Well organized, with good software skills and familiarity with computer database usage and internet file transfer.
  • Ability to learn & utilize CAD/CAM & graphics software.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of using software to determine cutting paths, speeds, passes, & tools size for production along with generating routing paths for tooling.
  • Ability to utilize shop tools such as grinders, saws, and hand tools to complete wooden molds.
  • Repairs broken molds in a timely manner to assure a minimum of disruption of the molding process.
  • May develop mold components, ensuring that all parts fit together without apparent seams.
  • Inspects work periodically and upon completion of the mold to ensure dimensional compliance with work order.
  • Perform routine operator maintenance to equipment & set up of equipment.
