About The Position

YMCA at North Rutherford is looking for a Les Mills Instructor to join their team. This role involves leading high-quality group fitness classes that are fun, safe, and educational, helping members feel supported on their fitness journeys. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized workout space and building relationships with members to create a welcoming environment. The position offers opportunities for collaboration and growth, with access to free CECs through ClubConnect after the first 90 days.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 18
• Teaching experience (less than 1 year is okay!)
• A passion for fitness and great communication skills
• Before start of 1st class: New Hire Orientation training
• Before start of 1st class: One of the following: Group Exercise Primary Certification (ACE, AFAA, ISSA, etc.) OR Specialty Certification (Cycling, Yoga, Les Mills, Ripped, Zumba, etc.)
• YMCA Group Fitness Instructor Certification provided by the Y upon hire (Principles of Member Health and Wellness, Foundations of Group Exercise at the Y)
• Within 30 days of hire: CPR Pro/First Aid/AED (we pay for these)

Nice To Haves

• Specialty certification preferred (Cycling, Zumba, Les Mills, etc.)
• Yoga or Pilates instructors need 20+ training hours.
