About The Position

The Lending Solutions Specialist performs all functions and duties involved with servicing of delinquent personal loans. This role assists leadership with repossession duties as assigned. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5, on-site at the Fargo Corporate Office with potential for hybrid options after fully trained. Essential functions include communicating with customers via mail or phone to encourage payment of delinquent accounts, answering customer inquiries, and resolving difficult customer situations. The specialist will complete on-line maintenance for extensions, collateral changes, and other necessary updates. A key responsibility is preventing further bank loss by avoiding charge-offs and repossessions. The role involves receiving bankruptcy notices, completing reaffirmation agreements, and working with the legal system for bankruptcy plans. File maintenance and monitoring of loans protected under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act are also required. The specialist will follow policy and procedure for non-accrual loans, including assisting with monthly reporting and tracking spreadsheets. File maintenance in the DNA system for bad mail and address changes is necessary. Responding to consumer disputes in a timely manner, including E-Oscar, and completing imaging of all customer correspondence and documentation are part of the duties. Preparing loan files for repossession, including completing market analysis of collateral, and ordering repossessions through outside vendors upon approval are also key functions. Additionally, the specialist will assist with preparing, developing, and distributing reports to ascertain the status of collection, charge-off, and repossession activity. Other duties include providing excellent customer service, developing and maintaining productive relationships, and ensuring prompt and reliable attendance. Compliance with all Gate City Bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations is mandatory. The role requires attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Associates degree; 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpret and use data for decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers by either mail or by personal phone calls to encourage payment of delinquent personal or business accounts.
  • Answer customer inquiries, including dealing with difficult customer situations and resolving problems.
  • Complete on-line maintenance for extensions, collateral changes, and other changes as needed.
  • Prevent further bank loss by avoiding charge offs and repossessions.
  • Receive bankruptcy notices for customers with personal loans.
  • Complete reaffirmation agreements and works with legal system to file bankruptcy plans.
  • Perform file maintenance and monitors loans protected under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with team members, leaders, customers, and vendors.
  • Ensure prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Comply with all Gate City Bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Be detailed-oriented and maintain high degree of accuracy.
