About The Position

The Institution for Savings is seeking a full-time, in-office Lending Administrative Assistant to serve as the primary administrative, customer service, and loan processing support for the Senior Lender while providing assistance to other members of the Residential Lending team as needed. The position plays a key role in supporting the Senior Lender’s borrower relationships by helping coordinate residential mortgage applications from application through closing, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and an exceptional borrower experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in mortgage lending, banking operations, loan processing, customer service, or an administrative support role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support for residential mortgage applications throughout the loan process.
  • Serve as the primary support resource for the Senior Lender, helping manage borrower communications, follow-up items, and administrative needs while assisting other lenders as business needs require.
  • Review loan files for completeness and follow up with borrowers and internal staff to obtain required documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver required loan disclosures within established regulatory timeframes.
  • Order and review third-party reports, including credit reports, flood certifications, appraisals, and other supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate loan records and documentation within the Bank's loan origination system.
  • Assist with preliminary loan file review and document verification prior to underwriting.
  • Prepare commitment letters, adverse action notices, and other loan-related correspondence.
  • Monitor outstanding loan conditions and coordinate with borrowers, lenders, and internal departments to facilitate timely loan processing.
  • Review loan files for HMDA and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate the transition of approved loans to the closing process.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to borrowers, referral partners, and internal team members by responding promptly, communicating clearly, and ensuring adherence to Bank policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
