About The Position
The South Dakota Legislature is seeking 26 college students to serve as interns during the 2027 South Dakota Legislative Session. Interns will assist legislators during the demanding session, observe the lawmaking process, learn about state issues, and may earn college credit.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university.
- All majors are accepted.
- Must state your political party preference upon application.
Nice To Haves
- Preference may be given to South Dakota residents.
- Preference may be given to students who have completed a year or two of college coursework.
Responsibilities
- Provide legislators with assistance needed to survive the rigors of a hectic legislative session.
- Observe the lawmaking process in action.
- Learn about the many issues confronting the state.
