The Office of Legislative Legal Services (OLLS) is seeking motivated law students for its internship program. This nonpartisan office serves as the in-house counsel for the Colorado General Assembly, facilitating and supporting legislative work. OLLS drafts legislation, conducts legal research, and provides legal advice to legislators and their staff. They also publish the Colorado Revised Statutes, review citizen-proposed laws, and provide public information about the General Assembly's work. The internship offers a chance to apply research, writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills to public policy issues, with extensive mentoring and exposure to various subject matter teams. Interns will gain experience in legislative bill drafting, legal research, meeting with legislators and lobbyists, staffing committee hearings, attending floor debates, and preparing annotations to appellate opinions.
