About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity to join UL Solutions' growing Environmental & Sustainability team, supporting clients in identifying, managing, and reducing water hygiene and Legionella risks across a diverse range of buildings and facilities. As a Legionella Risk Assessor, you will conduct assessments of water systems in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public-sector environments. You'll gather site data, inspect systems, identify potential risks, and provide professional recommendations that help clients maintain compliance, improve safety, and protect building occupants. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out on site, solving problems, working directly with customers, and applying technical expertise to real-world challenges. With a varied portfolio of projects across South England, this position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and career within a global leader in safety science.

Requirements

  • P901 Legionella Risk Assessment Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience conducting Legionella Risk Assessments.
  • Strong understanding of water hygiene and Legionella control practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied site schedule.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Experience working within UKAS-accredited environments.
  • Additional environmental, water hygiene, fire risk, or compliance-related qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Legionella Risk Assessments at a variety of customer sites.
  • Inspect water systems and identify potential risks and compliance gaps.
  • Produce accurate site data and inspection records using UL Solutions systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate site visits directly with customers and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and compliant.
  • Follow project scopes and complete inspections efficiently and professionally.
  • Identify additional opportunities to support customer needs.
  • Properly document field samples and ensure timely laboratory submissions when required.
  • Support the onboarding and development of new team members.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
