About The Position

This position is a mobile role, covering the South East England region (including central London). A company vehicle is provided, and travel is paid after the first 30 minutes. The role involves undertaking legionella risk assessments on domestic hot and cold systems, carrying out water sampling, temperature monitoring, and remedial works. It requires a good knowledge of HSG274 Part 2, ACOP L8, and UK water hygiene legislation, as well as COSHH and safe handling of water treatment chemicals. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills are essential, along with a full UK driving licence.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Legionella Risk Assessor, undertaking risk assessments on domestic hot and cold systems.
  • Good knowledge of HSG274 Part 2, ACOP L8 and UK water hygiene legislation.
  • Experience carrying out water sampling, temperature monitoring and remedial works.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of water treatment chemicals.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • City & Guilds Legionella Risk Assessing (WH004 or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds Legionella Control in Hot and Cold-Water Systems (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking legionella risk assessments
  • Supporting on the inspection and disinfection of hot and cold-water systems (including storage tanks, calorifiers and associated pipework) in line with HSG274 Part 2 and ACOP L8.
  • Carry out routine temperature monitoring, water sampling and basic testing to minimise Legionella risk.
  • Support Legionella risk assessments and implement required control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, COSHH, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, testing and compliance records.
  • Complete flushing, descaling, chlorination and other remedial works.
  • Respond to emergency water hygiene callouts when required.
  • Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Deliver a professional, customer-focused service at all times.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture across all activities.
  • Work in accordance with OCS policies, RAMS and Construction Phase Plans (CPPs).
  • Complete and support risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks.
