About The Position

CLFC Healthcare and Communications is seeking a Legal Videographer to serve as key personnel for the United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Louisiana, should CLFC be awarded the federal grand jury and deposition court reporting contract. The selected videographer will be presented to the Government with their resume, and work will commence upon contract award, scheduled to begin December 15, 2026. The role involves producing the video record of federal depositions, working in conjunction with a CLFC court reporter. For remote depositions, the videographer will manage the live video stream and recording while the court reporter manages the proceeding. The estimated commitment is approximately 20 hours of video attendance in the first year, designed to complement existing client work and add federal engagement experience.

Requirements

  • Professional legal videography experience, with sole responsibility for capture, audio and delivery.
  • Own professional video and audio recording equipment. The Government furnishes no equipment on this contract.
  • United States citizen or national, or lawful permanent resident seeking citizenship, with United States residency for at least three of the last five years.
  • Ability to clear a Department of Justice background investigation where the assignment requires it.
  • Availability for depositions within 50 miles of New Orleans.
  • A current resume showing location, education, experience, training and any security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Legal Video Specialist (CLVS) or an equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience recording depositions for federal proceedings.
  • Experience streaming and recording remote depositions on video conferencing platforms.
  • Experience synchronizing video with a stenographic transcript.

Responsibilities

  • Produce an accurate video record of federal depositions.
  • Manage the live video stream and the recording on remote depositions, keeping the deponent in full view throughout.
  • Set up, test and operate professional video and audio equipment at each proceeding, with backup recording.
  • Work alongside the court reporter so that the video record and the transcript align.
  • Protect the confidentiality of all testimony, recordings and exhibits.
  • Maintain a documented chain of custody for recorded media and deliver it through secure channels.
  • Coordinate assignment claims and confirmations through the CLFC BRIDGE App.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $60.00 to $75.00 per hour, with a two-hour minimum for each proceeding.
  • Independent contractor engagement (1099), paid within 30 days of your invoice.
  • Travel to deposition locations is reimbursed under the contract's travel terms.
