About The Position

CLFC Healthcare and Communications is seeking a Legal Videographer to serve as key personnel for the United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Louisiana, under a federal court reporting contract. The videographer will be responsible for producing the video record of federal depositions, working in conjunction with a CLFC court reporter. This role involves managing live video streams and recordings for remote depositions, ensuring the deponent remains in full view, and operating professional video and audio equipment with backup recording capabilities. The position requires close collaboration with the court reporter to ensure alignment between the video record and the transcript, while strictly protecting the confidentiality of all testimony, recordings, and exhibits. The commitment is estimated at approximately 20 hours of video attendance in the first year, making it a manageable addition to an existing client base and providing federal engagement experience. Assignment coordination and confirmations are handled through the CLFC BRIDGE App.

Requirements

  • Professional legal videography experience, with sole responsibility for capture, audio and delivery.
  • Your own professional video and audio recording equipment. The Government furnishes no equipment on this contract.
  • United States citizen or national, or lawful permanent resident seeking citizenship, with United States residency for at least three of the last five years, as the Department of Justice requires.
  • Ability to clear a Department of Justice background investigation where the assignment requires it.
  • Availability for depositions within 50 miles of New Orleans.
  • A current resume showing location, education, experience, training and any security clearance, which CLFC submits to the Government with its quote.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Legal Video Specialist (CLVS) or an equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience recording depositions for federal proceedings.
  • Experience streaming and recording remote depositions on video conferencing platforms.
  • Experience synchronizing video with a stenographic transcript.

Responsibilities

  • Produce an accurate video record of federal depositions.
  • Manage the live video stream and the recording on remote depositions, keeping the deponent in full view throughout.
  • Set up, test and operate professional video and audio equipment at each proceeding, with backup recording.
  • Work alongside the court reporter so that the video record and the transcript align.
  • Protect the confidentiality of all testimony, recordings and exhibits.
  • Maintain a documented chain of custody for recorded media and deliver it through secure channels.
  • Coordinate assignment claims and confirmations through the CLFC BRIDGE App.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $60.00 to $75.00 per hour, with a two-hour minimum for each proceeding.
  • Independent contractor engagement (1099), paid within 30 days of your invoice.
  • Travel to deposition locations is reimbursed under the contract's travel terms.
