About The Position

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office (CAO) is seeking a Legal Support Services Office Manager to support both Appeals and Investigations and Intelligence areas, and to create a list for future vacancies across the department. This Legal Support Services Office Manager will provide confidential assistance to the division leaders in the areas of personnel, workload indicators/statistics, high level administrative duties, and day-to-day clerical and administrative support. This is a full time, benefit earning position. You must be a current regular or probationary employee of the Hennepin County Attorney's Office to apply for this position. Limited duration employees are not eligible. This position is internally classified as a Legal Support Services Manager.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of administrative clerical support experience in a legal environment including two years or more of supervisor or lead worker experience.
  • Must reside in or relocate to Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality work, including determining priorities, schedules, and assignment of work; and select, train, establish goals and evaluate staff.
  • Perform confidential administrative support for the division manager(s)/executive(s).
  • Serve as management liaison and directly and indirectly work with various county departments and their upper-level management and division heads; other various legal/law enforcement agencies; various outside agencies and organizations; and all CAO personnel.
  • Interpret rules, regulations, and policies to the public, division employees, other Hennepin County departments, and other governmental agencies.
  • Make recommendations and implement changes related to organizational structure, practices and procedures of a legal work unit, legal office, and across other Hennepin County departmental lines.
  • Resolve and/or delegate unusual or difficult technical problems referred by division/unit staff or determine if additional resources are needed.
  • Collect, research, analyze, and prepare reports, manuals, correspondence, and/or statistics.
  • Initiate, develop, prepare, lead, and follow through on projects.
  • Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity & inclusion.
